Today walking up and down the very steps that Jesus is thought to have taken to Caiaphas when he was arrested was an incredible experience. I could have stayed there for hours praying on those steps. God is so good to us. God sent his perfect Son to die on the cross for us. Jesus knew the persecution and the rejection he was about to endure for his people. He was willing to sacrifice himself so that we may not suffer. Him living a perfect life allowed us to have a more direct personal relationship with our Lord rather than go through any type of Rabbi for forgiveness. God you love me that much!

Today while we were in the cistern that was turned into a jail cell where jesus was kept over night in Caiaphas' house, we read Psalm 88. Reading that passage and relating it to Jesus being inside that jail cell alone with God in the Dark. I realized sometimes we place Jesus as a higher being. What I mean is we do not see Jesus as human here on earth. The image that comes into my mind is the paintings with Jesus in them, and sometimes he has a halo around his head signifying his importance. Of course Christ is important, but we neglect his emotions that Jesus experienced here on earth. He was human just like the rest of us, but he was human living a life in the world and not of the world. He was not loved by all, he ate, drank, slept, cried, laughed, angry (not sinful anger) at the people who sold merchandise in the temple, tempted, persecuted, beaten for no reason, and died on a cross for us. Jesus experienced things that we experienced as a human and yet he was fully God perfect and blameless.

Thank you God for sending your son to be the savior of the world. Allow me to have an attitude like Jesus.
